To date I have been impervious to the retro charms of Yuck, nothing that I particularly disliked, just very little to mark them out. Funny then that ‘The Wall’ should work its magic given the simple structures employed. I should have guessed I’d relent at some stage though given that they are on Fat Possum. What is peculiar about Yuck is that they come from London but are styled to the letter on bands found across the water in the States. They have been adept at creating attention for themselves, at least it seems that way to me for they have notched up considerable action on my reading list. So anyway, we’re here now and doing imaginary hair dunks to the sound of ‘The Wall’ that are making me feel quite seasick. KD
