For much of the year it is Christmas time in my brain so when it actually comes around I get anxious about what I should be experiencing, somewhat scared that I will miss something. So this year I’ve decided to let it happen organically, not get in a twist and let it flow just like Jason Spaceman had whispered in my ear all those years ago. I’ll report back on how it goes in the new year, at which point the tinsel will have been well washed from my hair and I’ll have convinced myself that Bing needs to be boxed away for at least another 10 and a half months. Didn’t really get too much time to look beyond the obvious for new Christmas songs this year but this one has risen to the top shelf of tunes I will be returning to each year. The best thing is that ‘Time of The Season’ could be sneakily rolled out no matter what time of the year it is. But for today as the festivities move up a gear it is most certainly a soothing ode to the best time of the year. Nollaig Shona Daoibh! KD
