When everything all around is fluffy white snow and jingle bells it is sometimes nice to take a trip down an alternate laneway. And they don’t get much more diagonal than this piece of delicious bonkers from Toronto experimentalist Petra Glynt. North American Indian drumming, elephant noises and a voice that is one step away from being locked away for a very sedate weekend. There are echoes of the Van Allen Belt but then there are also many passages that approximate a group of banshees in a wind tunnel. Not sure why this struck a chord with me given that there are no precious none to be savoured at any point. Ah well, the vagaries of a wandering taste bud. KD
