There is definite talk of a new album in 2014 from Melbourne’s Husky following their debut ‘Forever So’ which was released on Sub Pop. That first step was impressive and what set them apart was in their insistence, a rarefied pursuit in the glossy excesses of today, on packing a decent tune with every few minutes of binary matter. ‘Tidal Wave’ was perhaps as simple as that first album got but my what a glorious bundle of cute vocals and acoustic drama it is. And bonus points for reaching for the jugular straight away rather than delaying the arrival of the sucrose core. KD
