A genuinely chirpy piece of music that reminded me of Gilbert O’Sullivan such is its use of old school devices such as whistling and a real life defined verse and chorus structure. It displays a band comfortable just basking in an array of melodies and a soft pastoral backdrop. There is a warm spirit at work here, something that you’ll search hard to find elsewhere. Hanreti are from Switzerland and are based around Timo Keller who appears to have a life beyond music but going by the strength of ‘Songbird’ that’s where his efforts should lie. A little gem. KH
