It positively reeks of a cocky young Damon Albarn, all pre-Gorillaz and floppy-fringed but post ‘There’s No Other Way’. ‘Hey, Hey Tiger!’ ends up being a skittering delight of a debut single, an urban skateboarder full of slinky charms and a wheelbarrow of insouciance. Some really fine playing going on too, a little low-slung but very inventive – the kind you return to time and again to pick out the detail. Pretty great stuff from Liverpool’s Seatbelts who are made up of James Madden and Ryan Murphy from Hooton Tennis Club. And in that respect one can safely say it is pretty ace. KH
