Couldn’t but get a whiff of the Beach Boys on this track and the sunshiney vibes extend to that promo video (here) which is both clever and funny. And it appears to be the type of vintage music we can expect from this London duo (Matthew Lowe and Daniel Trenholme), retro fitted with all kinds of smile inducing qualities. Had me thinking early Vampire Weekend and their preponderance for bouncy tropicality but I am not quite sure they suffused their work with so much sweet dynamics. I’ve been looking out for a band like Stables for a long time, glad to hear then that ‘Marathon’ is just one of twelve sings to appear in a twelve month period! KH
