What kind of post-shoegaze, or any gaze for that matter is this I thought to myself because the Slow Painters see fit to throw our critical feelers in the twin-tub. At least early doors when this tune seems to shapeshift with abandonment. The Norweigan quartet have their weird turns but with they hit peak fluidity they sound like they could take over the world and what a much more interesting planet we’d have in the process. They’ve curated a part of our indie past and in the process we’ve gotten a ‘Debaser’ for the new century. Bliss. KH
