All the evidence for me is that debut singles have a better chance over what follows in its wake because an act will never get that building to this moment like they do with their virgin release. And as a result I wasn’t in the least bit surprised to find that Raj Jain’s first steps as Jane. has pulled out all the emotional stops and in the process given us something that is subtle but laden with so much melodic resonance it took our day to a plane that we couldn’t have hoped for minutes before ‘Ingenue’ entered the room. And it is all powered by the love one human has for another, surely the greatest sustenance and inspiration for a love song that feels like it could help us overcome any hurdle. KH
