Besnard Lakes – She’s An Icicle

We were knee deep in the psychedelics but it was a soaking we could live with for Montreal’s hte Besnard Lakes have done something very ‘Lazer Guided Melodies’ era Spiritualized here – reverb and everything. Of course we’d be looking for more than all that semi-immersion and ‘She’s An Icicle’ didn’t let us down in that department for there is a grandiose Sigur Ros like anthem here that had us in a lather of excitement – Jace Lasek offering a voice to command attention every time. And that wasn’t even the end of it as the psychedelic close out just put the cap on some journey that we’ll be taking time and again. Worth the exhaustion it takes. KH
