Angel Saint Queen – Diablo Lake

Reminded me of the Innocence Mission, a Karen Peris vocal but definitely more of the indie rock staging so the riffs are never far from giving ‘Diablo Lake’ a bolt of energy and with it a reminded that great bands are still being produced in 2022 despite the ominous predictions. Angel Saint Queen succeed because they stuff the arrangements but it never feels overdone, in fact there is a flow here that makes it the best ambient rattle and roll I’ve heard all year. Goodness from start to finish. KH
