Vangelism – No Go

Reminded me of the Hives and the way Vangelism can lay down anthemic guitar lines and in a manner that you just know they meant it. The vocals are equally direct but apply a Bob Mould of Sugar consistency so it felt like we being dragged through the loud and proud alt 90’s. We were kicking and screaming but in delight rather than anything that might resemble pain and ‘No Fun’ proves to be the opposite of that. Yep there is anger here but it tempered because there is a good time anthem at the crux of the piece. Yep we were jumping on the spot and unafraid of turning our fragile ankles either. Pixies fans rejoice. KH
