Marry Cherry – Won’t Die Slow

This Austin troupe take their cues from some of our favourites so naturally we were going to be well disposed to what ‘Won’t Die Slow’ heaped upon us. And at that change of tempo early in the second minute I must admit to feeling like we’d be teleported back to the early 90’s when life seemed a whole lot more simpler and the music a whole lot more noisier. Marry Cherry really do manage to pack a lot into the piece and it makes for an riproaring ride as a result. Realising the shoegaze sound of yore is their primary motivation, the feedback and psychedelic movements a route to our getting lost in the glorious Spacemen 3 like drift of noise. KH
