Band Spectra – It Starts Again

There is definitely a psychedelic element to proceedings, before out of exactly nowhere Band Spectra go all Broadcast/Stereolab on us with that motorik of electronic pulsation and the word volleys (by Car Parking’s Jade Cook) adding just enough spacey interludes to get us light headed. Of course ‘It Starts Again’ is compelling because it hypnotises with its endless squirreling into whatever gaps we’ve left open on route to our deepest cranium. I could imagine David Holmes producing a similiar rush and Add N to (X) for that matter so Band Spectra (Robert Manning) are in good company. The best in fact and ‘It Starts Again’s is already starting to feel like a classic electronic stomp as a result. And there is likely to be more on the way with the soon to be released EP by Band Spectra. KH
