Siblings – Handsome But Pitiful

There is a slow rush to ‘Handsome but Pitiful’ and I know that sounds like a contradiction but Siblings just have that way of being wherein we are waltzing but prepared for a volley of screeching tyres into something more heated. I love that sort of undertow, akin to what Aimee Mann does, especially when housed in a song that has a romantic swoon but is also quite capable of throwing the daggers when required. A singer who will have listeners gaze fixed on their old school soulful delivery while the player dishes things up to a degree that Valentine’s really does have an alternative hero this year.
