Little Oil – Fig Leaf Crown

Little Oil are a little more slick in the folk department than most because there is an engine, albeit lolloping as it goes, to ‘Fig Leaf Crown’. Not only that but there is a chorus that is swoonsome so no matter all the seesawing, birdsong and general off-kilter quiet action this track sounds like it is here to provide comfort and solace to us listeners. I love that streak of madness, rare in 2024 but Little Oil just go hell for leather and every now and then hit the purest of aural slipstreams. We’re always here for something that is a little different and there is a lot of that on ‘Fig Leaf Crown’. KH
