Makeout City – Everytime

There is clarity in the dreamy tones that is for sure, a jangling chord and fey vocals trying to work out what it is all about will always help in creating the mood. So we are treated to the quiet side of Makeout City for most of the first minute before they turn a brighter shade of jaunty. And it is in this change of costume that ‘Everytime’ properly blooms, I mean this could have come from the Pale Saints from way back when. Plenty time for chiming instrumental breaks before it is all hands on deck and our twee indie heart feels fine tuned thanks to this fine new band from Philadelphia that we’ve just discovered. KH
