Diaphane – In Your First Mate’s Arms

Evocative kind of opening, the kind that has an industrial feel but you can still feel the heart to it. And the presence of that very same organ is confirmed when the sixties pop qualities of this track’s main motivation emerges. But Diaphane (Kyle Blessing) do lean simultaneously in a rock direction so there are plenty of loud crescendos present. And it is that spice that sets ‘In Your First Mate’s Arms’, even time for some slide guitar in there in a quiet moment before the rhapsody kicked off again in earnest. I can’t believe they packed so much in in far less than three minutes. KH
