Tides – Paint Dry

Santa Cruz’s Tides make the sort of sound that I’d expect an act called Tides to make, namely lively and engaging indie rock with jangle and harmonies.. ‘Paint Dry’ is ever so engaging as a result, real people releasing lovely melodies into the air like it was the golden age of alternative music all over again. They make it sound effortless too, a driving soundtrack for those trips to the coast when everything is rosy and we’re about to have the most memorable day of the summer. The Beach Boys would be proud what they’ve inspired. KH
