Housewives – Pacific Coast Highway

Always had a thing for Housewives, that incessant approach to indiedom in their sound that comes across like it was recorded in a garage back in the peak alternative 90’s. But then these are songs that needed recording for posterity to show future generations how much fun it was to be alive back then. ‘Pacific Coast Highway’ manages to show us bluster, Beach Boys harmonies and all manner of giddy guitar action so it really proves to be a catch-all for types who want their tunes to offer the whole alternative rock gamut over a few minutes. Some will be exhausted come the end, others won’t be able to shake that knowing satisfied smile. KH
