From the off ‘Back from Irian Jaya’ felt like home, the off-kilter manner that sweeps into a sixties sensibilities so we could be talk full-on Beatles there especially as that chorus offers up a swooning rendition of how it must feel to be loved so completely. So from an arrangement perspective JJ Miller has done a stellar job but the real magic is in giving all those pointers of yore such a contemporary setting so miserabilists will be drawn into its warm hearth. A song for you, me and everyone else. Nostalgia is a crutch we don’t make use of enough these days. KH
