You know as autumn and winter rolls in so do the songs that get with that feeling and so I wasn’t in the least bit surprised that Chicago folkster Mirabelle Skipworth conjured ‘Scary Story’. Of course there is very little trembling because this degree of warm folk will never quite get the hairs standing on end, tingles aplenty though because this act evokes so much in her quaint packages of delightful sound. There are shadows here and there but never of the malevolent kind because of the fireside charm that is dispensed every word of the way. Halloween never sounded quite this inviting. KH
