We are caught in the swirl of ’95’ early and most will find it hard to swim against its persuasive tide for Derek Miller’s Chaft have that heft of personality about them. Especially when the chorus kicks in and a swell of sixties musical machinations becomes the order of the day. ’95’ benefits from having an immediacy, with artful finger-clicking the order of the day and for me a little reminder of what Peter, Bjorn and John were so adept at preparing back in their peak years. Convincing stuff from this Boston based act. KH
