Vertex Damage – Bummer

The chugging chords tell us that Vertex Damage are drawing nicely from a time when independent music used to give us the tingles on a regular basis. What I like about this band’s approach is the clear delineation between the punk antics of the playing with the more melodic approach taken by the singer (a touch of Billy Corgan going on there and Gaz Coombes from Supergrass too). Not that he doesn’t throw shapes of the strutting kind either and so ‘Bummer’ becomes one of those tracks that would have been a staple on cassette mixes back in the day. KH
