You can tell that Brighton three-piece Ranting are up to some mischievousness and they’ve taken the Gorillaz template for their own devilish means. So there is fun, frolics and creaking door sensations at every turn. And though it wears its influences so transparently I couldn’t help but find the whole thing impressively entertaining. It whips up a storm of theatre and drama, whooping becomes mandatory for everyone within earshot and a guaranteed messy descent into madness a distinct possibility. KH
