Twin Bloom – Magazine Dreams

Such a tidy opening from Oakland’s Twin Bloom, from a playing and vocals perspective and it tells me that they have landed on their sound. ‘Magazine Dreams’ certainly pulls from another time, another century but the sort that saw the independent rock sound find its feet and make its mark. A start, middle and end with each part pulling its weight to create a nugget that would have found itself occupying a thousand mixtapes back in the day. Heard a degree of the Cars in here too, which tells me they have it all going on this act. KH
