The light and easy touch was a welcome one for a slow afternoon that was starting to drift. And it is something that seems to run right through to the heart of Jakki and the Pink Smudge as they combine jangling chords, light touch percussion and dreamy vocals into a sucrose compote that has a lightness of being that we should all strive for. Always playful and a turn on its heels in the mid-section where a more rock steady approach is taken. Felt like we were running through the idea set for an entire EP, some value for less than three minutes of our time. KH
