It’d be easier to crack the Da Vinci code than try to piece together a bio for this Derby band. For a time in 2005 it seemed that Komakino were about to outdo the Arctic Monkeys in the new sensations charts but due to some messy internal matters they disappeared without trace. The band are now back touring but they may have to produce another ‘Say Something’ to regain the ground conceded. Nothing too revelatory on ‘Say Something’, just a burst of jangling white noise and the fevered utterances of one Ryan Needham. This could be early doors Ash when they could keep their promise of a 100% guaranteed teenage production. This is fast and fluid, takes no prisoners and is generally something that new bands starting out should aspire to. KD
