Katrina Ford and Sean Antanaitis have been through the mill. Celebration is their 4th band together but this time is going to be different because the pieces have at last fallen into place. Already snapped up by the legend that is the 4AD label Celebration now has a fully-fledged sound that you’re unlikely to find ever originating out of a band of young bucks. ‘Evergreen’ is the opener on their second album ‘The Modern Tribe’ and is remarkable for a number of reasons. Firstly Ford’s vocals spin into quarters you never knew existed and secondly the music is such a dreamy concoction you kinda get the sense that 4AD knew exactly what they were letting themselves in for. ‘Evergreen’ certainly won’t have them rolling out of the pub with this on their lips but as an exercise in quality music from the underground it is hard to top.
