I just love their name, really annoying in the coolest of ways. The bonus of course is that their music is pretty great too. An Horse is Kate Cooper and Damon Cox from Brisbane and their debut album ‘Rearrange Beds’ is out now on Mom & Pop Records (right, that’s enough cuteness for now). ‘Little Lungs’ is an precious few minutes characterised by Cooper’s feisty vocals, Cox chips in too at regular intervals and while the song never bursts into prairie wide life it nonetheless has an super kinetic energy. Cooper is an welcome addition to the underground scene, it’s been an long time since we’ve had an ballsy front woman with the attitude and the songs (yeah, yeah, yeah I know). AN grades all around. excellent tune! alongside Venice is Sinking these guys were one of my favourite bands of SXSW. still can’t get ‘Camp Out’ out of my head.
