Wow, this was bigger than I thought was possible from a singer songwriter. And the more I listen the more I realise that perhaps it’s the unexpected noise that has drawn me moth-like to the flame. Sam Bisbee has been knocking around forever and despite a wealth of positive press he has yet to ride a wave of convincing popularity. A shame really because ‘Never Fall In Love’ (from his latest ‘Son Of A Math Teacher’) is really quite good. Having a chanteuse of the quality of Leona Naess to lead on vocal duties certainly helps though and when the bluster loses its edge it’s her vocals that make your crave reruns. KD
