This really is so beautiful and it comes from New York act My Robot Friend who we tend to dabble in about every 2 years. ‘Mean’ is taken from his current album ‘Soft-Core’ which includes contributions from none other than Alison Moyet, Dean Wareham and erm Zombie Nation. This little electro ditty is all of MRF’s own making though and is so blessed with melody and pretty sonic turns you may well wish you could embrace the elusive creative behind it. Yep, we’re none the wiser (although I seemed a tad wiser in 2006!) despite copious email exchanges, perhaps it’s better that way because the intrigue just gives this pulser that much more humanity.
