Harper Simon’s new LP is called ‘Division Street’ and for a minute I thought I’d spotted the primary influence in it’s naming. With receding braincells […]

Young Man – Up So Fast
Remember a couple of years back when every second new band appeared to have Wolf in their name? No, well no matter because it seems that nowadays the word on the street and on the posters is Young. To the Young Evils, Young Galaxy, Pale Young Gentlemen, Young Buffalo, Choir of Young Believers you can now add Young Man. Chicago boy Colin Caulfield already counts Bradford Cox amongst his fans and his brand of psych pop definitely belong in the moment. What’s so grand about ‘Up So Fast’ is the way it changes tact about half way through so if you don’t like the first half you may just have a ball on the closing one. Plenty of teeth on this one and not a hairy moniker in sight. KD
