Brooklyn, population 2.6 million, made up of 2.5999999 million artists and 3 accountants (all curiously named Noah). An overstatement of the borough’s cultural worth perhaps but for a populace that is way less than our fine land they sure do belt out an above average quality song ratio. So many in fact that ones like ‘Yellow Wings’ could easily be lost amongst the rampant creativity. What red flags Keepaway’s track though is its incessant desire to break free from all accusations of animal collectivity. And the threesome succeeds primarily because ‘Yellow Wings’ has its own highly charged ecosystem. It could have easily have raised eyebrows on the music alone so the introduction of equally dashing vocals makes for an unforgettable island in the sun. KD
