Danielson – Grow Up
Danielson, not he of the Karate Kid franchise I might add, is his usual contrarian self offering a delicious brand of off-kilter pop. This is a song of several parts that are seamlessly stitched into a coherent whole. So before you’re convinced that he is trying to channel Jack White out pops a much gentler incarnation that tempers the sense of unruliness early on. And the impressive vocals are ably matched by a series of stunning instrumental turns, so much so that on this occasion you’ll most certainly need to wax on. KD
