The Bird Day – Better or Worse
Portland has consistently forged an identity as a centre of cool new music and for a city with a population of about half the size of Dublin it certainly punches above its weight. So it’s probably not all that surprising that the metropolis has become a mecca for bands of a particular persuasion. Bands like the Bird Day for instance, who made the move from distant New York State in an attempt to ply their woozy, psychedelic, trance like operas. For the most part they play it off-kilter but when the fog lifts there is such beauty in the clearing it nullifies the sense of imbalance. KD
