Best Coast – Gone Again
Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno are between them into Fleetwood Mac, Metallica and cats. Not that you could entirely tell from the summer pop that coarses through their records but then what our popstars do in their spare time should be none of their business once they can crank out refined joy such as ‘Gone Again’. This recalls Spectre’s girl bands and Motown but retains a refreshing contemporary outlook. It was released as part of Adult Swim‘s impressive catalogue of free singles last year and even came with its own cutesy cinematic video. KD
