FNDTY – Never Die
Fandi Aditya chose to do it differently and because he operates on his lonesome it does make sense. He is informed by loud guitars with real song structures but the tools at his disposal are from an altogether more contemporary setting. Doesn’t mean to say that what he does is any less powerful than a chord crescendo involving lots of peroxide long haired men though. Take the fulcrum, ‘Never Die’, from his 2011 EP ‘Warriors’ which is emblazoned with white electronic noise alongside moments of tenderly dispatched keys. Makes for an absorbing listen that deviates from the norm in a fashion that has almost died. KD
