When I first clapped ears on this song I thought there was another tune playing on a separate browser. It’s just what you get with Thunder Power I guess, the sound of an ambush in the distance, a really good party that is far away enough to be almost imperceptible. Like their brethren Hot Lava much of Thunder Power’s appeal is in the giddy, almost carefree, delivery and their ability to conjure a memorable melody via the most awkward route possible. It takes craft to make it work this seamlessly and we genuinely hope that this Omaha band’s new LP ‘Volumes’ is the one to propel them to something resembling acclaim. KD
