Bridging the gap between R.E.M. and Venice Is Sinking a Cat Called Cricket’s ‘Seasons Never Change’ is probably a lot easier to absorb than the last collection of words. And given the Baltimore bands debut is called ‘Here Comes Another Melody’ it promises to be just one in a long line of tunes to be lovingly embraced. The good times seem destined to roll every time Alex Champagne and his band decide to break open another lavish set of instruments. That’s why ‘Seasons Never Change’ is full bodied and particularly distinguished by Patricia Blanchard’s roving cello. The energy in the tune’s momentum is infectious and the subtleties that appear around every corner make it a vintage to saviour. KD
