The Very Most – mp3hugger

You know the feeling when you leave a warm sunny holiday clime and your arrival back on home turf (literally) is greeted by 10 new ways to arrange the colour grey? Yep, we’ve left the cocktails behind us for puddles and grumpy taxi drivers. So why is my grin the size of the Ha’penny Bridge (upside down, in a smiley shape)? Well, one of my favourite new bands has written this rather fabulous new song about this blog, yes you read that correctly, it’s about mp3hugger! Now I may be blinded by the realisation that a sunshine chorus could sound this effervescent and only use M-P-3-Hugger, but I am pretty sure that despite this I still would have fallen for its melodic homespun charms. If you think this sounds good then you’ll most likely be salivating from the ear when you hear the Very Most’s new album ‘Congratulations Forever‘. Stick it on and watch those putrid brown puddles turn into turquoise pools full of colourful marine life. KD

Fuckin’ class. storkboy choons is now working on “asleep on the compost heap: the musical.” It’s a tale of twin brothers torn apart by drugs and a jealousy. It’s going to have 4/4 techno, heartache, heartbreak, drugs and a 40 foot polystyrene whale from which we emerge and hug during an emotive finale while the Billy Barry Kids dance provocatively in the bacvkground to Ricardo Villalobos. Expect it in 2013.

If you could get Twink to do the introductions and Aslan the sign language you could be onto a winner there.

  7. […] MP3Hugger. The ever-mysterious Mr. Hugger comes to us from the city I most want to live in: Dublin, Ireland. He covers a lot of ground, genre-wise, but I enjoy almost every recommendation he makes. He’s introduced me to some amazing bands, including Candy Claws, Standard Fare, and Avi Buffalo. He also runs a label called Indiecater Records which released our last full length album A Year With The Very Most. We also happened to write the blog’s theme song. […]
