With cerebral lyrics delivered in Yoni Wolf’s near spoken polemic style Why? are a band that certainly deserve an in-depth thesis to make sense of it all. Every one of their tunes has a story to tell and the words are tempered by some lovely musicianship, which makes an irresistible combination. But this is not background music, it requires a good deal of listener focus so the prospect of seeing Why? in concert is an attractive one. That’s why you should be clearing your diary for the first day in November when the band will be performing with Son Lux in the Andrews Lane Theatre.
