Low Sea – The Crash

Low Sea continue their evolution into one of the most interesting acts to come from Ireland (well partly Irish anyway) in recent years. Last time we looked Bobby and Billie were coming over all Jesus & Mary Chain yet within the space of a couple of months they’ve ditched the scraping guitars for something a little skimpier. ‘The Crash’ has all the hallmarks of an early nineties Curve, One Dove or even the dancier alter ego of St. Etienne. In essence it’s pretty ace, off-kilter and out of control but solid in its adhesion to a fluid song pattern. The Galway duo are currently working on their debut EP which will be a handmade effort which will doubtless set ebay auction records in years to come. Definitely a twosome to watch in 2009. KD
