It’s been 3 long years (to the day!) since Coltrane Motion last appeared on this blog and I must say I’ve missed ’em as there is something urgent and indispensable coursing through their efforts. I’m sold even more now that ‘I Forgot There Was A War On’ (from their new album ‘Hello Ambition’, out June 1) has been rattling inside my frame for the last few hours. Perhaps it’s the way the music performs circus tricks or the way the vocals seem almost stoner in comparison but stuff like this gets me excited about the future of music. Perhaps we could hook them up with Not Squares and witness the asylum as the sun goes down. KD
