Chappo are a duo from New York that may sound like a lot of bands you’ve heard before. Where they soar though is in their frisky delivery and a lyric sheet that is undeniably loveable. The vocals have that Band of Horses/My Morning Jacket/Neil Young nasal whine but are so freewheeling they ably cut their own individual swagger. ‘Come Home’ from their new single ‘Plastique Universe’ is a burner, a fast one at that and one that should make an instant impression on Friday night rumbles down the local indie emporium. It’s not often you get such a fluid expression of youthful vigour this charming. KD
