I’m a sucker for lo-fi boy/girl indie pop and so it came as no surprise when this little one charmed something inside. Not before I’d turned the volume up several degrees mind for this is a demo in every sense of the word. Not too bothered though because ‘I’m Scared’ is as charming as a koala (and nearly as sleepy early doors). The Bat Caves are a quartet from Seattle who’ve just started out so there’s precious few photos, web space or anything else that might tarnish what is wonderfully fragile creativity. Sure they’ll be top of the bill at the C-86 twentieth anniversary get together in a few years. KD
