Happiness: The Phoenix Foundation – Buffalo

It’s not only the music that should make you smile because this Wellington act (hmm, better explain, they come from New Zealand) are named after a fictional organisation from the 80’s show MacGyver. You should remember MacGyver for he was the lad who could break out of jail with a toothpick and 15cm of dyed wool. Nods to thrash TV aside the Phoenix Foundation really nailed it with this the title track from their 4th album. It is just so alive, vibrant and about to make waves when the album gets a European release (whether such things make sense in the internet age) early next year. And that’s before you even realise that the lyrics are actually about a Buffalo. KD
