Brown Recluse – Impression Of A City Morning

Ok, let’s get one thing out of the way, a Brown Recluse is a small spider with a potentially harmful bite which is rarely used unless threatened. And while we’ve got to question the thought processes behind why a band this huggable would chose this moniker we shouldn’t let it in anyway distort the love we have for them. They last appeared here in 2009 while stationed at the cassette loving Dead Format label, fast forward (!) to 2011 and Brown Recluse are resident at their obvious berth Slumberland Records. This label is older than most of this blogs readers but that hasn’t stopped them from continually finding our favourite bands. An ‘Impression Of A City Morning’ from the upcoming ‘Evening Tapestry’ LP is a cuddly cherub in the vein of old skool Belle & Sebastian (if only they’d take a return trip). In other words we are weak at the knees (and not just from last night’s astro footie). KD
