This Year’s Model – No Miracles

I’m sure you are hearing Pulp as much as me here and you know what given that it’s about a decade after the event it sounds quite fine. This Year’s Model are from further north than Sheffield and are led by Niklas Gustafsson who wrote much of what appears on the band’s sophomore ‘We Walk Like Ghosts’. ‘No Miracles’ starts out generic enough but finds a healthy second wind after the bridge, in fact the chorus is something you could imagine hoards of young ones singing along to as they do things their parents wouldn’t approve of in their bedrooms. For that is where This Year’s Model are set, piecing storyboards that are to the brim with lipgloss and razzmatazz. KD
