Despite making music since the 1970’s there doesn’t seem to be an end to David Kilgour’s love affair with the chiming chord. And the 2011 version of those shiny little critters sound as melodious as when he was knocking them out for fun with the Clean. The new produce will appear in April and was put together with own band the High Eights. The autobiographical ‘Diamond Mine’ is the first chink from ‘Left By Soft’ and what a joy it is for fans of jangle pop. To help with approximating that unhurried feel Kilgour and chums decamped to rural New Zealand and from there the good chimes just rolled.
